Hi everyone on the forum, I can see we have alot of hard work ahead of us to get our new arrival into the condition as some of your cars, they look brilliant.
My son and I have taken delivery of (hopefully) our first project, my neighbour has had this little beauty stored in his garage for a few years and has complied lots of spares for her, it was always his hope to get the time to do a rebuild of it but due to work and family commitments he was unable to carry it out.
With my son turning 17 at the end of the month we thought it would be a great way to get him on the road and to get an understanding of the fabulous mini, and after the Top Gear special at Christmas it wasn't to hard to convince him.
So my newly converted garage has now been turned back to a garage albeit with the mod cons of power, lights and heating but it will be a great place for him to start.
A friend of mine who owns a body shop has just come over this evening to check it out and he says its a gem with nearly everything being original, he has said that after we have finished stripping her down we can take the car to his workshop he will do the welding and my son can use all his tools to rub everything down and then my mate will spray it. We will then bring it back fully done and rebuild it here (what a result)
So I am sure I will have to ask your learned people your advice on many things.
So its a big hello from me and my son.

Thanks for the comments, yes the garage comes straight off the house so I converted itto a multi use room, so we can have an extra room but use it as a garage as well, we have stripped the mini down now and its off to the body shop this weekend so the dusty work can be done there and not wreck my room.
Cheers I will post some pictures when the paint is off.
