As per the title.

It's the heater hose connecting to the heater matrix. I know it says use some force which I was doing but what sort of lube should be used?

Cheers.

Just don't use washing up liquid on steel, its got salt in it. For anything near steel use ky jelly.

Well heater matrix hose went on very well with a hint of washing liquid.

The other end wouldn't connect for love nor money though, I'll give KY a shot when I can get some free time.

Not sure what my next move is if KY doesn't work.

Just force it on with a bit of lube and a wiggle and it should go on. :P

I assure you, much force and wiggling (with a few more descriptives) was carried to no avail. The hoses are just so bloody tight.

Wondering if there is a way of softening them up a bit?

Round 3 at some point this week.

Warm water... warm the hose end up in a cup of warm for a short while, will soften it up nicely... then use some WD40/vasaline or something and slide it on.... you might have to pick the edge of the hose round with a screw driver if its a parciualy tight fit

Bought the hose kit from minispares so seems to be correct. The hose that goes from the heater matrix I believe is 5/8". There is a metal "lug/cylinder" that connected the previous 2 hoses (heater - Y-shaped hose that goes from the bottom of the rad to the heater hose.)

I think the old metal adapter converted 1/2" to 5/8", now if both my hoses are now 5/8" I'm now thinking there must be a different adapter to connect the 2 hoses.

The reason (i think) that the Y-shaped hose will not connect (just below the thermostat) is age related. The pipe output is a bit honking, trying to get something abrasive to the underside which isn't easy.

I believe this is the part that I currently have, albeit in slightly worse condition.

http://www.minispare...=0&tc=1#submenu

I appear to have struck a bit of a problem here as both hoses (that i am attempting to attach) are the same diameter/circumference and all the adaptors seem to be of the step up/down variety??

Please tell me this is not a unique problem to myself, looks like I may be scouring plumbing sections for an alternative, >_<
