When i bought my project i was told it had a limited slip diff, unsure if it was or not i decided to open it up and have a look, not really a good idea as it took me best part of an hour to get it back together
Not that it matters i suppose but anyone know what diff this is?

I think its a sierra 4x4 diff, but i would not bet too much money on what i have said. i had a gripper diff fitted to mine so i know what they look like.
glad you got your diff out

I've not had one apart, but looking at the case from you driveshaft removal thread, it looks just like My old diff which is derived from the rear diff from a 4x4 sierra. Mine was an open diff and had the same cast casing as yours. My lsd one has a billet case with 6 or 8 allen bolts in. I thought it would be easy to tell if it was on the car on axle stands, ie if one wheel turns independently, whilst a mate holds the opposite wheel still it should be a slipper? Or is that not right?
