Hi everyone,

I am in the garage as I speak(write) trying to get the car fired up for the first time. Me and a mate of mine have been trying things all afternoon.

I'm running the volvo 2.0 turbo lump coupled with the DTA pro series ecu.

The fundamental problem here, is that we're getting no spark!

I've plugged the ecu in and:

- followed the start up guide unlocking the map
- checked all the sensors are working ok/ reading
- ran tests on the coils and injectors
- properly plummet in the fpr, and powered up the fuel pump.
- ran tests on the loom checking all live and earth connections.

I'm running out of ideas madly, z cars couldn't help me much this morning and im losing the will to live.

My friend just said, after a quick skim through the dta manual, it needs a minimum of 3 bar fuel pressure to start. Is anyone familiar with this?Does it need a fuel pressure reading to start? And if so, should I be wiring the fuel pump in more detail than just, a live feed off the ignition to the pump live, and the other to common/ground?

Does anyone who's had the volvo kit, Honda kit dta or any workings with this kind of stuff have any ideas, any at all!!??

If so, replies would be so very much appreciated.

I'm so close to figuring this thing out, and as soon as I have, I can get on full steam ahead for putting it on the road, so it's quite an exiting time!

Thanks a lot everyone :)

I´m running 3.5 bar of fuel pressure on my volvo mini, but can´t help you any further as I´ve kept the std. ECU.

Cheers, Gonzo

Hi,
Thanks for the reply mate.
Does the fuel pressure read through your ecu. i.e is it an absolute neccesaty.
Cheers.

Hello , i had the same issue as you , iam using a DTA S40 ecu , and finally i could get the spark by re wiring the coil pack , it had no power to it .
