Hello i want new headlights in my mini but cant find any good ones anywhere i don't want the standard ones, being a MK1 Golf fan and my best mate owning a MK1 golf i know they make loads of different style headlights. i want them to be abit different and put some cool headlights in maybe the cross-hair ones i read somewhere that the Golf headlights fit in with a few modifications,
has anyone done this or know anyone who has, or know what modifications you have to do?
Thanks, Matt

yes, use the search function and look for dans diy on it, not to hard, need to cut the inner ring and trim the outer ring, im doing this during the spring when i do my new front end

as far as i know you just have to modify the inside ring that holds your headlight in. just by cutting it then when youve got the new headlight in it just has a gap while its holding it.
there was a project pickup on here that has them fitted

i love the golf conversion, are you going with just the lights or the full grill? i saw a clubman with a golf front not so long ago, i am unsure if it was here

To be honest this is a conversion that isn't as simple as you are all saying, i've tried this on my shortie, the inner ring needs cutting but this then leaves a gap, also when you mount the headlamp you will find it sits just of centre, then you need to mod the outer ring to get it to slide over the extended inner ring this again creates its own problems with aligment
don't let this put you off, i didn't like the finished article, it looked bodged so i ditched idea and went for wipac clear freeform
In an ideal world Simon from minispares would see this and look into crosshair lights for the mini.
