Too cold to go out to the garage (and some decorating to do!) so some thoughts for the future. Looking at options for ECUs. Thoughts so far (may not be all valid), comments appreciated.

Standard Honda ECU ; no option to map for exhaust & inlet changes. Would need to get round immoiliser which could be complicated. Wiring simpler. Cheap as I have got one.

Hondadata kpro: favoured by ctr owners. can use with std loom. no live map updates? need an existing ecu to modify. base maps available. cost about £730?

Specialised Components Typhoon: not as well known as some and not as much information available from users. Only base map available is for TBs. cost about £600+ but supply of loom (modified honda) strongly recommended (£300).

DTA S60 pro: believe favoured by z cars. back up information looks good. std K20 map available. cost £845+

Hydra nemesis: believe formerly used by z-cars. Have struggled to find out much about this for K20 installation though seems popular with evo & scooby tuners. Not sure about price.

AEM: nominally a 'plug & play' option but not sure there is a version for euro ctr. cost £1000?

I am sure there are others out there.
I have struggled to track down a pinout diagram for the std ecu or a wiring diagram for the ctr, does anyone have either?

Thanks Greg

I have the Hondata, it works just fine and is plug and play into the engine loom. As far as wiring into the car loom I know a source that can supply a connector and a pin diagram that will allow you to cut and splice into the car loom, it sounds daunting but its actually not that bad, first off use regular spade connectors to make sure all is good then once happy replace them with solder butts to make a premanent connection - you will have to do this with any ECU you use. PM me if you want details, the guy selling the connector (my tuner) also sells K-Pro.

Hondata works great!
I used Hydra on my WRX a few years ago and it was the only one that truly did what it was supposed too. One problem I had was that not many people can program them very well.
