What series engine is a MG Midget from a 1970.

i have a 1969 midget and its a A series engine and 1275cc

but its built for rearwheel drive

not sure when but midgets did go to crappy 1500 triumph engines in the 70's so it might not even be a series.

If it was an A-series engine, would it be worth sticking into the Mini?

i dont think a rearwheel drive A series fits onto a minis gear box :'(

don't be stealing my ideas.... I've got that plan in my head for a future build...... full mgb running gear tuned a bit and placed into the mini... the result would be a quick, rear wheel drive and still 100% british mini
