Hello all thought if get this going in advance as getting everything ready before the car arrives. My first job ( can't post in wanted area) is I was shown a 6 page article in mini world I think that was all on the special and am trying to find a copy of it to work back on with the dash and so on. All I know is the mag came out bout 2-3 yrs ago and that's where I'm stuck. Will get some pics up either later today or tomorrow for people to look at.

i've got that magazine, i can scan the article for you if you want, if you need any more pics i can take some of our mini special if you like as our car is original and standard now (apart from the carbs and exhaust).

is it a 1979 mini 1100 special that you have got?

i believe so. look the same as ur profile pic with a lot more rust and the need for the engine to be put back in. a scan of the article would be great. my bros started to play with her but has made more work.

Nope my bro wanted one for when he passed his test. So went out and got one against pairents wishes. After 3 months was bored of it so it's just been sat for 4 yrs and ignored. Mine now just gota get it from there place to mine.

as you can see ish no engine.


its being used as storage at the moment so gona try and have a good look over her later if i can get a lift over as my wrist still buggered from the bike accident..

well the car still has its 3 clock (same as 1275GT) dash binnacle and the boot badge (which are getting difficult to find), there was an original steering wheel on ebay, it didnt sell but you might be interested in messaging the guy to see how much he wants fot it, they are rare and hard to get http://www.ebay.co.u...=item33706bf641

the front side repeaters are still available as they were also fitted to other BL cars and daimlers as well.

is the centre console still in the car?

it shouldent take too much to return it back to original spec, its worth doing though as these 1100 specials will only go up in value.....

and take that fog lamp off as well, they werent fitted when they were new and they are not needed for the m.o.t either as the car is old enough not to need one.

also, when you get to the point of refurbing the wheels, a lot of people just paint them silver all over which looks rubbish, this is what they should look like.
