Replaced the silly snout thing on the airbox with a home made velocity stack fashioned from a bit of 40mm plastic pipe, flared out at the end by heating and forming on a salt cellar...cost about £3 from B&Q and I've got enough pipe to make at least 5!

If you use the standard air box... Drill 1/4" holes in the bottom and at the front... voila car now breaths better, sounds better and it's free

Does this actually work? It just make it breath in warm air?

The best mod under a tenner is completely free...Remove ALL unnecessary luggage including passengers.

you'll be able to drive quicker, save money on fuel, AND there won't be a nagging wife in the passenger seat. :shifty:

I thought I read on here somewhere you shouldn't replace the mini fusebox with a blade type fuse box?

You can, but if I remember correctly, blade and glass fuses aren't the rated the same despite their similar markings.

By taking the old bit off and putting that on, what does it do better, i thought it was to take warm air and heat up the engine quicker??

just wondered as i didn't understand if it was a helpful thing to do or not :)

yea , you have to change the rating of the fuses because they are rated differently , there was a post on here somewhere that told you how to do it
