as many of u will know i am now building my metro turbo engine, i am just about to start porting, polishing and enlarging the combustion chambers of the turbo cylinder heads. i could do with some pictures of before and after shots of the ports and combustion chambers before i start so i know what aim for, does anyone now where i could find some pics like this or does anyone have any that you could send me?
if you have anything please let me know i need to be in this car very soon and this is one of the most time consuming jobs of the build.
thanks

Aaaa, the bible...

Dont try and read it and understand it, because not alot of it will make sense, but the diagrams are good tho when you get confused. Dont pollish your head, you want some roughness in it to stop pooling and mix the fuel/air better.

The inlet doesn't want to be polished to a fine finish, a slightly rough finish is best for mixture. The combustion chambers can be polished though.
See if this link helps - head chamber pics

on those heads you are showing the beak has been removed hasn't it, isn't that bad for the swirl in the combustion chamber???
or should i copy them religiously?

Standard chamber shape is better for "swirl" as you say.
The reason the chambers on these heads are taken out to that size is purely to lower the compression so more boost can be run.
If you do not need to lower the compression much or at all then the chamber design can follow much the same route as for a normally aspirated A-Series, deshrouding the valves etc

I havent measured the CC of the chamber yet. I'll be getting it skimmed hopefully within the next few weeks and have it ground out a litte more to compensate so if you want I'll let you know.

Only way I figure to measure the capacity is to use a measured pipette and drip water into the chamber till its full.
