im converting my auto to manual, and dont need the auto engine anymore, it ran well until a week before i pulled it out, i suspect it needs the usual ignition parts to get it running smooth again, it developed a missfire, by the look of it it still has the original 40yr old points! the gearbox was smooth, pulled well and very low mileage, 26k in nearly 40years! with mots to back up the mileage. Due to its age, it has hardy spicer inner joints instead of pot joints, and i also have a spare set of driveshafts with the same type hardy spicer joints to go with it, so what you get is :-

2x sets of hardy spicer driveshafts
1x auto engine with 26k on the clock with gear selector still attatched and most anciliaries

im open to offers in the region of £200, the driveshafts and the diff (im sure the diff can be removed, stripped and converted to run in a manual engine, giving you hardy spicer joints, ideal for rallying!) are gotta be worth that alone, the auto engine just happens to be included in the lot lol

You might want to double check that, I'm fairly use that auto hardy spicer joints are only good for auto diffs and auto diffs are only good for auto gearboxes.

You certainly can fit them into manual cars, as I have seen it done several times over the years, I don't know the process or how it's done and wheather there is any machining to be done

Cheers

whats the differnce between the auto diff and the manual diff then? i know the auto diff is bigger, thought might be able to strip the diff, take the bits the joints bolt to and transfer them into a manual diff?

You can transfer all of the diff parts and use the output shaft castings

i have more sets of driveshafts without the hardy spicer joints, do you just want the bare shafts? with no cv/pot joint?

Yeah im only after the bare shafts, but I need the early type as my mini has the rubber couplings at the gear box end not pot joints, they are the same shafts as used with the hardy spicer joints. but if you have a spare early pair then give me a pm with how much you want for em.
thanks
