Hi everyone,

Thought i'd start a thread about what work i've been doing on the mini since i've bought her. She is very solid but the previous owner has majorly bodged every repair job he did on it just to pass the MOT so its time to fix her up. I will post some of the major bodges so you can look out for them on any minis you purchase :proud:

Before really thinking of uploading pictures on here I have totally replaced the O/S suspension arm/hub assembly which was in about the same condition as the N/S is now.
As you can see the whole assembly has seen better days and is heavily rusted.

The shocks dont even provide any dampening anymore totally worn out. Hopefully will be replacing all 4 with some GAZ shocks soon!

The hub has also been infected by the metal rust worm.

Surprisingly all the nuts came off easily even though the condition of them wasnt great, so stripped the assembly in about 1 hour ish possibly 2 haha!

Next I'm going to strip off the underseal from the flitch panel. Looks to me as seal has been put on seal and is starting to flake away. Hopefully fingers crossed theres no rust behind there. Wish me luck!

Cheers, Dave
