I'm doing an overhaul on my shell, which is going well, and have amassed most panels already.
In doing so, I have a nice little collection of A-panels (I think three pairs, oddly), but they're all non-Heritage.

Minispares sell the genuine panel, along with something which they say "bodyshops prefer".
1. Genuine: http://minispares.co...=0&tc=1#submenu (ALA5660MS)

2. Non-genuine: http://minispares.co...ty=pb&pid=42754 (ALA5660)

The non-genuine one is apparently thicker, so should be stronger and should last longer. Obviously these panels commonly rust, so I wondered if anybody had any experience of using the thicker panel and could tell me:
a) What's the fitment like?
b) Does it appear to last longer?

I'm a stickler for genuine panels, so I'll need some convincing!

Cheers guys

(PS I've included a little pic of the shell as it is now, so you can see the extent of my challenge!) O_O

Can't say what the fitment is like as I fited heritage a panels to my mini. However I cant see a valid argument for it lasting longer. The life span of your A panel along with any other panel comes down to how well you protect it with paint, seal sealer around all the joints etc etc.

Cool thanks guys, that's what I'll do then. Will just make sure they're protected as well as they can be!
