I am getting new door skins for my 1994 mini, what are the best quality ones you can get that arn't genuine?

And... is there must difference from genuine to non- genuine?

Thanks - Andrew

m-machine at a guess. But there are real advantages of the ally ones.

You wont have to replace a doorskin again!

Hi,

not much difference in price really

Are there any differences in fitting an ally door skin, welding it where required etc ??

For me its Heritage all the way. I bought pattern ones off SC Parts and they had a bow in the middle of the top section. The Heritage fit nicely and are finished better as well.

Yes All of my panels so far have been heritage ..or carbon :w00t: They do fit a lot better.. just the door skins are hellish expensive for what they are!

See...I'm cutting the front bottom corners off and curving them and then going to ad a piece to the A panel to get it looking like a MK1..so I don't want to spent loads of heritage panels I'm going to butcher but I suppose if I want them to fit!

Cheers - Andrew

To be honest i ended up adding more metal to both of Erm's door skin edges to improve the gaps and they are both Heritage.

I think the other skins out there can be hit and miss but its finding them. I'm not sure if M Machine press their own or just buy in panels which they do for some of the repair panels that they sell.
