Just wondered what size battery people were using with Vtec. I assume you could get away with a smaller capacity than in the civic but may still need the same CCA to turn the engine over - which tends to imply a similar sized battery?

Also if you mount just in front of the bulkhead is there room for a seat in the well behind the crossmember - I have no seats at the moment so difficult to be sure.

Hi Greg

This is what I have in mine: http://www.powervamp...etail.asp?ID=24

When you say in front of the bulkhead do you mean in the cabin or in the engine bay?

Andy

What you have gone for looks ideal as seems to have the cranking capacity without the size though quite expensive being a 'racing' product.

I meant inside the cabin. I did not think there was room anywhere in the engine bay but have not really looked to see if this is an option.

i did use the pvr30 zcars provided, it didn't last long. kept making me have to ask for people to bump me. i ended buying the next size up. i don't have mine next to the fuel tank so could afford the extra height. its better at starting is and its never let me down.
if your to buy one, make sure its not been stored on concrete. its fatal to that type of battery.

Al, thats wierd as I have never had a problem with mine, do you use a full battery kill? the only thing that will still work on mine when the battery key is removed is the Hazard lights.....

I'm using the 306 battery as many of you are running in standard minis. It turns a diesel, so it'll turn the vtec engines!

i wired it up such that the ignition barrel was a relay switch as i didn't like the zcars loom, or lack of proper schematics. the headlight wires used to get hot etc... so its not a full battery cut off but as close to it bar the alarm as it can be.
it might have just been a faulty battery.

the bigger battery has I'm sure helped with extra stuff like stereo & camping stuff for the swis imm 2011 trip, as did the custom designed 60 litre fuel tank.
