Has anyone got any suggestions for getting my roof back to how it should be, the only solution i can think of is pushing the dents out from the inside of the car, then using fibre glass sheets and resin to layer on, on the inside to form a solid spot on the roof, hopefully stopping the dents popping back everytime i go over a bump. I'm having the car resprayed and would prefer the roof to be in good shape

Cheers.

Am i thinking correctly...

Heat up the edges of the dents and pop them back out

or actually use panel beater hammers?

You have to be careful with dents as they do stretch the metal. If its really bad you can get either a CF roof or a fibre glass one.

The heating process in the right hands will more than likely work however if done wrong will make it worse. If they are small dents then panel beating and dollies will do the job but again you need to be careful.

Post up some pictures for us to have a look.

If I'm honest i was going to try pull them back out with a dent remover. Then fibre glass on the underside to make sure they do not pop back.

have you tryed poping the dent out then ? and it jsut pops back in ?
if it dose all you need to do is head up the roof with a blow torch http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_2135wt_1037 then push dent out and get some 1 on the out side to cool the roof down and it shuld shrick the panel back and then you can skim over the roof with a general car body filler http://www.ebay.co.u...5#ht_574wt_1037 then sand down smooth but befor you put the filler on or even fiberglass if you do fiberglass it, it has to be bare metal where you put the filler

Here's an example of the heat/cool technique using a hairdryer and compressed air I think it is

It's not compressed air, it's freezer spray.

How bad are the dents? A roof decal can be used to hide them?

Well I don't know, never tried it, but there are many examples of it appearing to work, from many parts of the world. I really don't think there is a global conspiracy going here

Cheers for the advice, fibre glass roof was really a last resort, as I'm pretty tight for cash at the moment. I have heard of this technique before and I am gonna give it a try seeing as its more a less free  The dents in the roof are not as big as the one on that video nor are they creased. so I'm hoping it should work. Thanks again =]
