I remember there being a few discussions about where you could get these before, I know they aren't strictly mini related and they are just 1" grommets, but you can pick up a pack of 25 pretty cheap here..

Might be helpful for a few of you! I've just bought myself a pack.

I'm pretty sure I found that the 1 inch ones weren't snug though. Can't remember exactly. I got a few different sizes to decide which one was best suited for it.

Well I'm sat in the Uni library 'working' and I couldn't remember what size they were exactly! I'm sure they'll plug a few holes.

in all honestly leave them out they drain water which in a mini you will invetably get in the car so in leaving them out the water can drain preventing the floor from rotting also remove your carpet until the summer as it holds a huge amount of water form coondensation etc :)

So unless you drive the car in dry weather only you will get wet carpets anyway. Providing your door seals are in good order along with no rusty holes then you should be ok with the plugs fitted.

We never had any issues with either of my wifes two minis. If they are rubber plugs and fresh then you can easily pop them out.

And just to add if you really want the correct size and cannot source them cheaply then SC Parts sell the correct sizes but they are not cheap unfortunately.

What about water off the road or spray from other vehicles? Also be a pretty cold jet of air coming right up your trousers in the winter.

I've also not had wet carpets since I sorted out all my leaks, and mine is an everyday car.

i just have no carpets in over winter and have my rubber car mats in as that stops the draft and any water getting in but the water can get out underneath :), you have all been very lucky if your cars dont leak lol. was just a thought

Surely its better to solve the reason why its leaking rather than just enabling drainage? :D

£7.00, + £2.00 delivery for 25 grommets! Are you mad? Another ebay millionaire in the making there. 1" grommets are a standard electrical size, I'd be amazed if you paid that much for them at B&Q! Go to an electrical wholesaler, they are about 10p each.
