I know this is pretty stupid but how do you fit wingmirrors on new doors skins? Do I drill holes for the bolts or can you just use selftapping screws? Thanks.

Mk3 on new door skins, at least genuine ones, are drilled for the door mirror fixing points. You need a Riv-nut setting gun and the right size Riv-nuts. Riv-nuts are fitted in much the same way as pop-rivets and they leave a fixed thread in the door. If you have non-genuine skins and they aren't drilled, keep the top section of the old skin to use as a template to show you where to drill for them, the Riv-nuts can only be fitted after the skin is on the door.

On the old skins it was bolted on but I see no way of doing that because you can reach that section of the door through the holes :s. Do self tapping screws hold well?

This is what i did as we used non genuine skins, worth doing IMO easy job with the tool :proud:
