Using A Landrover Hs6 On A Mini

has any one used one the hs6 carbs of a landrover v8.

the landrover uses two hs6, They are handed,

just wondering if any one has used one if there could be any problems.

single hs6 are good for minis, twins would be over kill :)

i ran one on a 1380 back in the 80's, the only issue i had was when it was getting set up on rolling road rather than change needles, we filed a slight flat on it untill mixture was reading right. if i remember right it had around 100bhp at the wheels. 1380, big valve head, nitrided and balanced crank, lightened and balanced flywheel, 544 cam and an aldon dizzy

i was recommend by my rolling road tunner to get a hs6 for my 998 with 940 head.

so no real problems then. good good, will get one me thinks

An HS4 or rather better HIF38 is fine for that engine spec - you will only need the larger HS6 if the engine is approaching 'full race' spec.

this is true, the hs6, as good as it may be, would be overkill for a road 998. bigger carb doesnt equal more power.:P

why would the tuning guy say that i should change my hs4 to a hs6.
