Well, what a pain in the ass. Dave has been working the (ex MG Turbo) head for the GTM project and has discovered and extremely fine hairline crack between the valve seats on #4. What we need to know if if there is a waterway between the valves and if so, exactly how far down from the seat does it start?

Which valve is it on, I have had cracks in the seats before and managed to get round it by having a new seat fitted. So long as the crack doesn't go too far in then they can cut it out when they fit the new seat.

Its too far down to be replaced with a seat, almost a quarter of an inch. We are more concerned if it runs into a water or oilway. Do you know where they start?

I junked a scrap head two weeks ago and am wishing I didn't now, I could have run a drill through it to find out!
