(Close them down to 10 thou, gives a little more lift than standard and is perfectly ok to do so before people start saying otherwise.) quote!!

From the context I would assume you are reffering to valve clearance? (or tappet adjustment as it's often called). Yeah, 10 thou is deffo 0.010 inches. :o

yeah i am, is it ok for my car its a 998 standard??? and how do i measure 0.25mm???

anyhow - you'll need feeler gauges to set the valve clearances...

I would think it'll be Ok. (IIRC that quote was from someone who knows alot more about it than me). You adjust it with something called a feeler gauge (a thin strip of metal of a set thickness).

Most places that sell car parts and tools (Halfords being an example). While in there I would get a Haynes manual which goes into detail of how to adjust them. Better still, get a TMF CD, they have got loadsa info on them! :o
