Major Problem! Hole In The Engine!

I really hope that Hole doesn't mean what i think it's going to mean!

Please tell me i don't have to get a new engine!

I realised water was leaking out when i topped up the rad last night, i went out this morning to see why it had leaked and saw it was pooring out of this hole, its just thin flakey rust now :'(

It's a core plug, it just needs to be replaced. Did you have anti freeze in?

That's just a core plug which has popped out, did you not have any anti-freeze in?

by the look of that, to me it lloks like a core plug has failed. but im more than likely wrong, im not even sure if im looking at the right thing?

I took it to a garage ages ago and assumed when he re-filled the rad he had put it it, but 2 days ago it frooze completly as you'ed expect?

what does this mean will happen to the engine now then?

the hole bellow the left alternator nut , what has popped out i don't understand?

Take the alternator off, clean it up and put a new one in, should be fine

It means youll drain the engine off entirely of water when its thawed, replace the core plug and refill with the correct coolent.

not saying this is the right one but this is a core plug, you just fish the old one out and pop one of these in. nothing serious, make sure you ahave anti freeze next time, ;)

Yes that's a core plug, what type of engine have you got? You can see another core plug to the left of your original photo..

okay fewwwww, so i just need a new plug like in the link, clean it, stick that in and then fill the whole thing up again with ANIT-FREEZE! this time

A good idea to flush the system out first, then refill with antifreeze/water
