My 1993 Mini Mayfair 1275 a series 35,000 beauty came into my life in the summer of 2007.
I used it for 6 months until i had to purchase another car to use long distance.
since then it has been off the road,
Both front wings have gone where they meet the front panel, as well as the inner wings splitting due to worn out front subframe mounts.
My plans are to fit a DGV weber, found on old ford xflow engines. i have contacted a jet supplier and they have informed me that the standard 1600 xflow carb comes with the correct jets to run on my 1275.
I have got a inlet manifold from ebay with the correct flange for the weber.
I have got the carb from the capri laser that is sat in my friends barn and was running fine before i removed it.
Last year i purchased a stage 1 tuning kit which came with a needle for my shot su, inlet mani, lcb exhaust manifold and a 2 box side exit exhaust.
first job is to get the weber on, fit an electric fuel pump in the engine bay with an in-line filter and fit the exhaust correctly. then a good service with new dizy cap, plugs, leads, oil and filter e.t.c and get it running correctly.
the front end is now removed, and i am debating whether to fit a clubman 2 piece fiberglass front (with subframe bars), a normal round nose fiberglass front, or a proper steel round nose front.
then the plan is to freshen up the suspension with a set of uprated dampers, refurbish the brakes with brand new copper pipe throughout, new wheel cylinders and shoes, and new pads and a goodridge hose kit. recondition my superlites (12") and fit a good set of tyres.
here is a pic of my mini in the summer of 2007.
