Hi, Im not sure if this has been asked before but when my brake pedal is released their is a rattling sound coming from the engine bay. Ive only noticed today that when I depress the brake pedal the rattle stops. I must mention the car runs fine and has no braking issuse and I carnt see any thing obvious.

What could this be ?

By the way its a 1978 Mini 1000 with no mods if this helps

Hopefully you can see and hear in the video what happens

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Elliott

Something is resonating which stops when you pressurise the brake system and "stiffen it up". Check everything in the pipework / cylinder system is secure and the bracketry holding it to the body is not corroded.

Hi, i never found the problem, it just disappeared. However i'm fairly certain it was one of the brake pipes hitting the bulkhead when pressurized.
