What would you recommend using to make my mini quiter.
I have seen some people use dynamat and other expensive materials but wasnt sure if there was a cheaper option.
Thanks

That sound DEADENING not insulation.
Deadening stops rattling, sound insulation stops noise, like road noise.
Ideally you want to deaden and insulate a mini.
Silent coat is a good sound deadening, I've used it on my mini and it stopped alot of rattles and blocked out a little road noise. you can get 2mm stuff and 4mm. I put 2mm stuff behind door cards and 4mm everywhere else.
For sound deadening you can use things like carpet underlay, stuff like cloud9 is supposed to be good. Or you can use proper closed cell foam which is better. silent coat do a closed cell foam which is good for sound insulation.
There is one called Second skin luxury liner pro. this has a layer of closed cell foam, and a layer of this think liner stuff. this is supposed to be the best for sound insulation in a car.

Promoted as sound deadening.....works very well in both aspects..... You tried the stuff? It is very good

OP specifically referred to dynamat, and this is widely considered to be a solid alternative at better cost.

I found that dynamat is actually more expensive, and silent coat worked just as good. But each to there own n all that :)

Saw this topic a while ago and as ive just fitted a weber im considering putting some sound proofing against the bulkhead to try and keep some noise out.

It would help to put more sound insulation, as silent coat stops rattles and vibration, its a sound deadening material.
