Hello, Going to be putting two new front tyres on soon and wondering what my range is like for fittinto 5x12" rims. Currently 145/70's, what's the widest tyre suitable for these rims?
Cheers

165 x 70 but they may rub. Also 165 x 60 available - but not inexpensive!

The only real option, if you are on 5" x 12" wheels is the 165/60 x 12. The 145 is a bit narrow for that wheel width, although still basically OK, but the 165/60 is the most popular size with a 12" wheel.
You have the choice of several makes and tread patterns, but the final choice is up to you. The latest Falkens are very good, and don't believe the negative things some say about them. They are an excellent compromise of performance/price in my opinion.

Better still -move down to 10" wheels - the size the car was designed to use.......... 165 x 70 x10 tyres.
