I have a mg metro engine in my car

with K and N in housing filter
the head has modified inlet ports
has the full maniflow system
engine is balanced
compression is 200 on each cylinder

it goes very very well what hp at the flywheel should it have
i would imagine 80+ or 65+ at the wheels

Well they were supposed to have 73 BHP from the factory (some had more, some less of course) so a bit of decent breathing would probably see another 2-3 GENUINE BHP.

I would suggest chucking it on a rolling road and getting it set up properly.

I have a similar MG lump with an SW5 camshaft. It's yet to go on a rolling road but I'll be happy with 80 at the flywheel.

If you are looking for power then you need something better than an SW5.

I had a standard mg 1275, made 65bhp at the wheels and 75ishBhp at the fly, can't remember exactly don't have the car anymore, so I reckon your about right.

I was after torque and something driveable rather than outright bhp, hence the camshaft choice.

I forget what timing I have at the moment, I'm running Megajolt with a conservative advance curve downloaded from the Autosports website. Now the engine has covered a few miles I'll take it to a rolling road and set it up properly.
