Hello,

A few week's ago i was driving to leiscter with the miss's and the engine seemed to just cut out as if no petrol was getting in. I went onto the hard shoulder checked all the connections i knew i had petrol in the car and couldn't see anything wrong and it wouldn't turn over. I push started it. this happened about 3 times down the m6, on the 4th time i tightened the alternator belt as i had just had that replaced and it seemed to have done the job yet the mini seemed to threaten once or twice with cutting out.

Just before i made my way back to brum i tightened my alternator belt and it was fine (was raining all the way back) and had no issue's. was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this as all my lights were working so i don't think it was a dead battery as i checked the battery on the roadside and it seem'd fine.

All i can think of is the miss's is just bad luck in the car !

Any help would be appreciated
jake.

Had this happen to me once, Turned out car was just having a bit of a temper tantrum, didnt like being on the motor way at a constant speed for a while, was doing 80 when it cut out had to clutch dump and roll to the hard shoulder, little bit of water and she was fine again.
I too never found out why!
But its the way with minis I have found, Sometimes they just have a little temper, its part of there personality!
