Has anyone bought these:

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e6b1eb197

I need a new bottom rail, top is ok but really not convinced about giving mini spares £60-£70 for a genuine one. The ebay option is tempting but can't make up my mind about quality.

Any advice would be appreciated.

PS, building a 1993 SPi John Cooper Works car, spent silly money so far and this detail needs to be perfect. For example, I'm re-cutting the dash pannel because it is about 4mm out on the bottom rail, far to anal I know but that's the way I am!

I'm getting the top and bottom dash rail done in red genuine leather (from elsewhere, but self fitted) so I know how you feel about perfection

Give Optimise Automotive a call directly (he is a member on here).
I've spoken to him a couple of times and he is very helpful.

In fact, he has an order from me for : centre binnacle dash with top rail fitted, dash tray liner and dash tray plus heater tubes in red carpet.
Can't wait to get them !

Oh and I recall that he said the stuff from his website is of better quality than the ebay stuff, but I would check with him on that

p.s. if you are a TMF + member, like I am, you get a 10% discount too !

Good morning,

The dash rail covers are a new item that was only added to eBay on Friday - as of yet we havn't dispatched any,

However, we have been selling them for a while on request - and, they can be found on Steves beauty: LINK

They are also avaialble in whatever material you want them making from (vinyl leatherette, leather, Alcantara® etc.) in whatever colour.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

I was looking at this too. Very helpful, and they will do the colour I want for the same price. Just got more important things to do at the moment

I have also bought a pair of these off Andy in cream with black stitching. The quality is very good! I'm yet to fit mine in to the car yet though.

how do these fit? do they go over the top of the exsisting rail or does it have to be removed?

Yes, you have to remove both rails from the Mini to fit them.

Once removed from the Mini you remove the old vinyl covering from your top dash rail and replace it with the new one - using spray adhesive & trim clips (the trim-clips from your original covering can be re-used). And the bottom dash rail cover simply fits over the existing one, using spray adhesive.

Hope that helps.
