I have been getting conflicting opinions on what blue my clubby estate is. The friend of the family who is currently working on it thinks it is Tahiti Blue, but looking at the Austinminiwebsearch, think it looks much more like Pageant! I also understand that there were quite a few Tahitis through the years.

If it helps, the clubby is an old V reg (1980?)

Pageant :shifty: its on the correct year for it too - 1978 - 1980

Tahiti blue was 1975 - 1977 i think.

wow, everyone must be as bored at work as me! I only refreshed after a few minutes and there were 3 responses.

I am still unsure as to whether I should re-spray in the same colour. It is not listed on the little identification plate on RHS of engine bay, and V5 only states 'Blue".

What other colours were standard at that time? Is there some sort of reference document/brochure/webpage for this sort of thing. I am interested in getting the car back into shape, but still not sure how original to go with it.

Neil.

That is a nice pickup. There was a blue one just like that in my local area for a couple of weeks about a month ago. If i lived somewhere nicer I would have assumed the guy was on holiday as it was only there for such a short time.

would live a pickup, but both cant afford another, and would have no where to put it

It's pageant blue. Tahiti blue is a darker shade. I've had Minis in both shades of blue.

I think I will stick with Pageant. It is getting a full respray after the welding (new wings, sills, rear sub mounts, inner wing/flitch/thing where the fresh air vent is, rear valance, other bits and bobs), so now is the time to decide what I want to do with him. Only mods I am thinking are discs on front (fiesta) and some slight engine mods. and interior.

will start a build thread somewhere when work gets underway.

Hmmm... my daughter's mini is Pageant but it's a 76? Looks like the original paint to me. Very strange.

Paul.
