i have a pair on stone guards for the front lights of my Sprite but i cant for the life of me work out how the heck you fit them, i thought this would be the last thing id have trouble doing. i checked on here and all i can see is people who have sold them.............never anyone having trouble with fitting them. which leads me to feel rather special for asking :shy:

are there meant to be clips? as one of the threads had a mention of clips missing? :/

cheers

There are three clips which are held in place using three existing self tapping screw on the inner headlamp ring. Once the guard is passed through the clips, they are bent back, locking it into position.

One of the first mods I did to my car, and one of the first to come off, they soon go rusty, and trap dirt on the headlamp lenses.

Im sure the clips could be easily made, they're only a small piece of thin metal, with 2/3 bends in them. :)

I felt the same about mine. They're rubbish! The clips get in the way of putting the headlight chrome ring back on, I've tried them in different ways and tried them under the screws for the lamp but theyre still naff. You could try cable tying them on to the small brackets where the lights fixed on though

lol i didnt have the clips so i didnt know to use them, i was trying to fit them under the 2nd chrome ring that comes off. buuuuuut on the mesh stone guards theres a thicker steel cirlce around the outside of the mesh, i kinda wire cut this off so i could fit the mesh under the chrom ring. so i have destroyed one of the stone guards LOL like the fool i am :/ i should of come on here before i got the wire cutters out
