Thought I'd put this up here.
Mum and dads mini which has recently been restored had these: http://www.minispare...ty=pb&pid=38277
They have actually risen in price from when we purchased them from £22 (ex vat) to £26 (ex vat)..
They rust very quickly, its not significant rust by any means as they have started tarnishing, however even after not being washed for just 1 week it has appeared. So, i wonder whats its like after a month without washing..?
I am sure that stainless steel isn't meant to rust..
I appreciate that minispares is a reptuable company, perhaps it is just the product letting them down?
I work for lee up at http://www.thepremie...icompany.co.uk/ and he had a mini van that had these on and his rusted also.
I havent rang them yet as I have only just got back from work so I'll see whats to be said on monday
Cheers, hope to save people a few quid on crappy bumpers.

I had the same problem after about 6 months they were pretty rusty all over, I expect they are made in china out of really low grade stainless, with lots of adulterants present which is prob what is causing the rust. plus the fit leaves alot to be desired as well.

Have them fitted front and rear on mine for nearly a year now, haven't had any problems as of yet... Car is cleaned and detailed regularly though, saying that there has been periods of a couple of weeks where it hasn't even seen a sponge when I've been away from home! Very strange....

Its the fact that its been only a month and you can see rust coming through.
Bit annoying
After 6 months i would expect rust on chrome, not stainless steel.

ask him if he can quote the sales of goods act and the bit about being fit for the purpose
if he can't trading standards will help him out

Well he said yes to sending them back and I asked for a replacement of a different 'model' so to speak, and he didnt seem bothered at that either, will send them back and go elsewhere i think.

I will try to yes, it is slight rust, no big holes like a floor pan!
Maybe the supplier has changed??

I like mini spares, but I had their own stainless bumpers and they are rubbish, not a very good shape at all (their stainless overriders doen't even fit them properly!) and to add insualt to injury, when I high lighted the problem, they admitted they were rubbish!
