How long have you been driving? NCB?
My girlfriend is 21 with 4 years NCB and got insured on a 1275 cooper for £350.. if that helps..

it is different insuring a 1275 cooper than insuring a 998 that has had a 1275 dropped in , the insurance may well ask for an engineers report to prove that the car is up to the job of the bigger engine (stupid really because the brakes etc are all the same on a 998 as it is on a 1275)
and after that they will award you will a horrendous insurance quote for all of your hard work!

Yep, Having the same problem bro. If you go on comparison websites, i think you might be able put it down as a standard engine swap as it is from another mini (not 100% on that)

with a modified car it's always best to talk to someone rather that clicking boxes on a web site

your mini is a 1 off so you need a tailor made policy for your car and you can only get this talking to a real person

That's more than I pay a year for a Mazda 2.2TD and a Seat Ibiza 1.9TDi

Oh how I love being 30!

What kind of engine upgrading because you can just get you engine re bored to a 1275 and they will never know as they won't check and the codes will be 998cc... will cost more then a 1275 but you'll save loads on insurance ;) but that's naughty and you should never do it haha

And the fact that it's impossible, that would make it rather difficult too. 1275 and 998 blocks are different.

God knows how your all getting this cheap insurence. The cheapest I could find when I passed was well over a grand and on a standard 998! It best go down a lot after my first year which should be coming up very soon.
