Hi Guys,

Please can someone help, My Mini SPI only had her a month but seem to be having one problem after another. Today i went to start her and the battery was flat turned out an interior light had been left on, I have hooked her up to a battery pack and she now has power all the light and such are being powered and the immobiliser light on the dash board is flashing.

The problem I'm having is i can't start her because i can't disable the immobiliser, it doesn't seem to be registering the commands sent from the remote key fob, i have tried pressing both buttons 5 and 8 times as i read this can sometimes reset it. Both have not worked.

The other thing i have noticed is if i try to start the car with the immobiliser active this horrid alarm sounds, this also happens sometimes when opening the door. Im not sure whats happened this alarm never used to sound, in the past i have tried to start her forgetting to disactivate the immobiliser and the only thing that happens is the car will not start till i do. Ive not heard this alarm before.

Please can someone advice is there a way i can get her started? or manually disable the immobiliser system. I have not tried replacing the battery in the fob yet, i will do so tomorrow but i think its unlikely this will resolve the issue.

Surely this system is designed to hold the information for the remote fobs that are programmed to arm and disarm it?

Please help I'm at a loss now.

Regards
Craig

Have you charged the battery or just tried to jump start it?
Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins

Without sounding stupid, have you tried locking and unlocking the car. This cures the same problem we have :)

I have attached a battery pack to it, that is what is powering the car currently, I haven't tried disconnected the battery, i fail to see how that might help? the battery was completely flat had no charge left at all. It was only when i attached a battery pack power was restored and i noticed this problem. If I'm wrong please correct me but the source of power is regardless providing it has power? is this not the case?

Im case anyone else was having this issue i was able to resolve the problem by reseating the battery in my key fob, disconnected the car battery. Reconnecting the car battery and pressing the unlock button 4 times with all doors, boot and bonnet closed.
