Excuse my language but this is an absolute p take, I thought a mini was meant to be one of the cheapest cars to insure for an 18 year old -.-

The majority of companies wont insure people under 21 with classic car insurance though :/

The cheapest quote I've got up to now is £3000

Do co-op insure Minis? Whenever I enter my details, it is unable to give me a quote. Something to do with age perhaps and the fact it lacks highly in safety features?

They wouldn't quote for me, said it's too old, mine's only a '96 too.
Tried phoning them? And what's your quote with RAC?
