Hello!!

I was wondering if you guys can help me out please?

I am curious as to the value of my 1975 Austin Mini 1000 (998cc), it's "Bronze Yellow" in colour and all works fantastically!

Below are some photos, the Mini (I think) is in great condition for it's age, the only place it really shows it is the front under the headlamps, a common place for rust to show.

The only difference to the Mini since new (that I know of) is I have fitted 2 6x9 speakers under the rear seats, but they can easily be removed to make it totally original.

Any idea's you have to it''s value would be greatly appreciated! I paid £950 for it 10 months ago, I feel I paid a great price! Do you?

Thanks all!

Oh, and any tips to increase its value as/when I come to sell, I don't expect this to be for a while!!

If you bought it for 950 you did really well... almost original mk3's don't appear that often.

I don't think the beige velour interior is original, a 1975 would not have had headrests, and should be vinyl

Try and get something into that rust under the lights before it goes too far and you're replacing wings... that's the thing which will increase it's value..

I honestly reckon if you sold that now with 12 months ticket and tax, you may double your money.

Well, I thought I got a bargain, I know the seats are not original, I replaced the seats for more comfortable ones, but I do have the old ones which are, as you say, vinyl without headrests. So I would put them in, take out speakers and then it would be totally original :)

How much do you think I would get extra if I got the wings repaired?

And you think I got a good deal??
Thanks for your advice!!

Wow, and I thought for a first car it was a bit expensive!! Seems though I got a nice deal!!

I am the fifth owner, and no, there was a little history, a couple of MOT's and service bills, and it has definatly been looked after, when I had it, it had been oil sprayed underneath, and the interior is mint. And I think the mileage is genuine at just under 42,000 as well.

Any more thoughts??

I'd say your car's worth £1750-£2000 with the original seat back in it. With the front end repainted and the engine bay tidied up and detailed it would be £2500-£3000.

At £950 that was a bargain.

Wow, these are really great comments to be hearing!! Thanks so much for your input, it is really appreciated, I was thinking about tidying the engine bay up, but I was not even sure where to begin! Does anybody have any ideas that I can try please?

Thanks!

This would be money well spent.

He might even take a cheeky offer?

As noted earlier, I have the original vinyl to go back in if it would bring more money, but thanks anyway!

Oh, well thanks very much!! It's nice to know other people like my car as well!

I have a boot lid in for a spray up as well so it will have a new boot lid as/when I come to sell.

Any ideas about when a good time to sell is, should I ever want to??

Thanks!!
