Hi a friend of mine has just bought a 1978 Mini pickup and were putting it back to standard, what we need to know is what colour was the standard engine? It's 850cc if that makes any difference

I dont think 'BMC Green' was used after 1970 (ish)
Later engines were either yellow (998), red (1275) or black (1275, GTs and Cooper S) IIRC.
I think that 850 may have been black too
