Hey!!!

Being new to this forum i thougt i'd share with you pics of my car...

It's a 1984 Mini. I bought it nearly 3 years ago, as a wolf in sheeps clothing. The previous owner had sone alot of work to the engine, and it was quick! But the body was in need of some work. Fortunatly, the body actually LOOKED WORSE than it was!!! I only needed door skins, a-panels, and lower sills... OBVIOUSLY only genuine parts were bought!!!! The reason the body was good was because we found out it had been reshelled recently! and being a later shell, it had the rear seat belt mounting points, off centre dash binicle etc...

The engine has been bored out (not sure how much by yet because haven't stripped it), ported and polished head, twin 1 1/2" Carbs, freeflow manifold...
How i got it:

Fresh out the paint shop:

I've bought some genuine Rover sportspack arches, and want to keep this general rover theme going throughout. I've bought a genuine grille, and plan to get genuine bumpers and chrome bits becasue cheap stuff looks rubbish IMO. I basically want it to look like how a mini would've been from the factory (exterior anyway!) Although, if i could afford a set of those Black and silvr leather seats from teh Cooper sport 500 i'd definatly have them!!! Obviously, the 13" wheels are going on there, and i think that the Deep Dish Chrome Superlites would look awesome against my car (and as it's not a daily driver they're not going to get ruined by salt and stuff)

The colour is Ford Imperial blue (much better on a mini than a Focus RS IMO!!!), the roof is Ford Performance White (but the mixture changed slightly because it looked too orange as standard) the white basically has blue bits in and really looks good on the roof as the edges have a hint of blue, really looking cool against the rest of the car! (The pictures really don't do the colour justice!!!)

Theres so much to do; suspension, interior, engine work, fit my twin tanks (of which i got a bargain (£30 with all bits needed...))wheels, oh, and i've got to paint underneath (inc under wheel arches) and inside the boot yet then fit the headlining and the dash and the exhaust and....

I'm gonna stop waffling on now, but hopefully i'll be around in the next show season (or maybe '07!) so keep a look out!!!

Well... After more than two years of not really doing anything to my mini (except polish it every now and then to keep it shiny and good condition!) Over these past few months i've really spent alot on a few bits to inspire me to complete it!!

Here are some pics of it recently in the sun (I really love the colour!!)

Unfortunatly before i can fit the suspension, i need to paint/underseal the inner wheel arches and under the car, to be completed soon!

Also bought this really good condition late cooper interior off ebay, as you can see in my original post i've always wanted these and finally got them!! Sweet!

And then the wheels - bit over my budget but they're AWESOME!! they'll look absolutely stunning when on the car!

All in all i realistly hope to have it running and put together in time for Bingley next year - but my daily driver corrado is starting to get tired and need major suspension work soon so that may eat into my precious time for the mini ;)

Well, here we go again...
After yet another year of collecting bits and storing them rather than putting them on the car I took some time off work last week to try and get as much done as possible!!

The thing holding putting it back together was that underneath needed treating and painting and the main body work needed flatting back and polishing properly (i didn't want to fit it together before this as the polish gets in every nook and cranny!!)

However, this was done by my dad on monday and wednesday and so I could start fitting all my shiny new bits to the car!!

First up was the suspension, I changed the rears as the shocks needed putting in before the fuel tanks, it went without too much ahssle and even the old knuckle cups came out ok!

My mini has pretty much looked like this for the past four years (taken last tuesday):

And it needed sorting! As you can see in my previous posts I have bought alot of bits and none of them are on it!!

Next big thing to fit was the headlining as this needs fitting before the windows and it makes it easier if the seats aren't in too...
out comes my brand new Newton Commericial black headlining:

It took some fiddling and cutting to get it right (which i'm still not happy with) but its in and we can get on with other things!!

I bought a Genuine Rover dash board from an MPI car which I had painted in a metallic black with lots of red, blue, silver etc thrown in so it's not plain - it's a very subtle metallic though and you can't really see it in the pics (or even in real life!!) I fitted silver dials, and put it reassembled it including the very nice finishing surround - T his is the kind of touch that I want for my car, lots of little details that really make it have a good feel of quality!

I couldn't wait to put in my Silver/Black leather interior so that was next and WOW, it looks soo stunning!!
