I'm in the process of rebuilding and polishing the carbs - it takes so long to polish! I'll get some piccies when i can!
Also trying to decide which headlights to go for - standard looking ones or crystal ones? Any one had good/bad experiences?? I don't know if the crystal lamps will look too bling and cheap?! But then they will prob go with all my other shiny bits!

Cheers once again for all the positive comments - it really helps give me motivation (if the car isn't enough already!) to get it on the road!!

As i said before, awsome car, Very simular to mine atm :]
I just bought some crystal head lights from Minispares-online. Really good, so much better than standard, BUT Dont go for the angel eye. they are exackly the same as the normal but with blue bulbs for the side lights. They look so tacky, (look like they came free with a copy of MaxPower) so i just switched the bulbs, deffinatly worth the money

It's still an on going project - but more has been done since june!
I bought some pretty funky headlights - they are crystal but yellow looking which has a tint of blue/purple in different lights - works well with the colour of the car and chrome i think! I still need to fit my new headlamp rings and still need to buy new inner rings but minispares seem to have been out of stock of them for ages now!
I bought a new stage 2 maniflow lcb and full playmini exhaust which is next to be fitted - I put the manifold in place really easily though (I thought it was going to be one of the hardest tasks I've ever tackled but in fact it was one of the easiest!) I also bought some new ignition leads and some other bits and pieces I need to get it running but living half an hour away from my parents (where the car is) makes it difficult to tinker about in the evenings!
I will get some more pictures up tonight or tomorrow! And you can give me feedback on the headlights! (I think it will separate opinions...)
Unfortunately though, yet again I've got another stumbling block... another mini taking up my time for a couple of months - this will be the second mini I will have quickly restored in the time I've had my blue beast! I should really concentrate on just the one! It's a 1979 1100 Special...
Thanks again for all the positive comments - it really does give me some inspiration for working on it and finishing it! I actually can't even imagine driving it any time soon because I've had it soo long!

in the early pictures someone pointed out the headlight adjuster, which you said didnt work in your car, anyway,
my first thought was swap the knob for a cigarette lighter, you could have a sat nav etc then.
just a thought,
keep up the good work its definately worth it in this case

Yeah I think the seat belt mouting points in the back were only standard later on - maybe someone could correct me if I'm wrong?

Hi, yeah i have thought about different options for the headlight adjuster switch - another option was a starter button, as well as a colour change for hte interior lights, but 12v socket if defo a good shout - i may consider that instead!
