Anyway, it is a Austin 1000 Automatic, on an old V (79). First job is the MOT (brother-in-law hopefully taking it in this week!). I'm then back from Germany in a couple of weeks to sort out any issues. Then a tidy up and overhaul are the order of the day - switch drums to disks, period seats with head rests, tidy and clean interior (probably remove dash and go back to centre console), and a damn good clean! Once all that is done, I want to put a manual engine in it. I was going to keep it standard, but I really would rather have a manual than an auto so I'll keep the engine for if I come to sell it.
I couldn't stop grinning all the way back, looking at it in the mirror on the recovery truck. I drove it just into my road and onto the drive and I had forgotten how much fun it could be! I can't wait to have this little car back on the road!
So here are some pics:

Now I just need a name. I already have a 92 Cooper called Oliver, and he now has a little sister. My brother is going to give me some stick about the EMO bit on the plate. Two name suggestions so far - Chilindrina (Girlfriend's choice, cartoon she used to watch, but ugly
