Im not sure someone down my road has been careless and left it out or spilt it and didn’t clean it up.

That's so sad. I've always collected mine and disposed of it carefully. My cat died last year so I know how you feel.

Sorry to hear that. :(

I've started using an product made by Fernox to avoid this problem. It's manufactured for central heating systems but is fine in Minis as a replacement for ethylene glycol.

Take 200ml..Normal coke bottle of anti freeze to kill a human.

So many cases of women sneeking small amounts into husbands drinks and food..slowly killing them :/

No doubt there are also cases of blokes drinking it willingly, easier than dealer with the long haired general.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

Am I the only person who was initially confused by this thread, as I couldn't work out how a catalytic converter would even be in contact with antifreeze, let alone damaged by it?? >_<

Sorry to hear about your feline friend by the way... :(

what's this Fernox stuff?

I'll get the part number tonight.

A lot of classic car owners are turning to it as a sensible alternative. It's central heating inhibitor/antifreeze suitable for all heating systems (copper, iron, steel, plastic and aluminum) and it's fine for cars as well. It's not particularly cheap but it's pretty kind to the environment and not poisonous.

I stupidly put the organic acid pink antifreeze in my freshly built engine and then did the research, and quickly drained it out again. O_O

I really feel for you! I have a 16 year old cat and would be devastated for this to happen to her.. :(
