Hi all, Ive been looking at the Mini Spares sale and the 948 Cam Kit looks like a good deal for £62. I know there are better cams, but as I have a 1098 that I have nearly finished putting back together (with a good pin drive oil pump that i dont want to change) the question is is it worth getting the credit card out or do I stick with the standard cam ?
The spec at the moment is standard 1098 with a lightly worked 295 head, Maniflow freeflow manifold and twin box system, 1.5 SU and standard air filter. I am more interested in flexability then top end power and I am very tight so worth it or not ?
Thanks.

i'm not sure that the 948 cam will suit the 1098 as it doesen't come onto cam until 2000rpm, you would be better off with a kent 266, a much better cam for the 1098, did you have the 295 head skimmed?

Is there a 266 with a pin drive ? Yes the heads been skimmed. Iam happy with the standard 1100 cam just wondered if the 948 would give any real benifit as seemed a bit of a bargin.
