Very briefly. I'v just purchased a rear roll cage and I have just about reached my wits end in my inability to work out a way to fit it.
My main question is where do the front two feet attach to - inside the rear bins on the floor or out outside the bins, next to the seat belt fixing?

The feet sit inside the companion bins.

Inside the bins, if you have them! best way of getting it in the car (if you havent already) is to ratchet strap the legs together, pulling them in. But first, with the top of the cage pointing towards the front end, and the back legs facing upwards, put one side of the cage inside the car, then strap together, then guide the other side in. Does help to remove the steering column if you can, although I've always managed with it still in place, the top bar has to sit on top of the cowling. Then just get it into the rear bins and backwards. Its a complete pita, so another person is very helpful!

Thats been a big help. Its now inside the bins.
Pretty pleased with myself - solo job with nothing but a bit of brute strength and a lot of crushed fingers.
Now the issue is that the back legs don't line up with the arches - they're too narrow.
Any ideas on how I can push them out somehow?

I've welded reinforcing plates for the feet to attach too on the rear arches and floor...... The metal just seemed to thin to bolt straight too and I chopped my bins out but now I'm thinking of making some new ones .... Luckily my rear seat still fits with my cage fitted

Whilst doing up the bolts....sounds like a challenge to me.
Another question - what should be put the other side of the body as a spreader plate?

Something like a piece of 1.5mm ish plate, with big washers. Put the nuts inside the cabin, a few people place under in the arch, but I didn't feel comfortable with that just incase the they came into contact with the excess part of bolt sticking out.

In all seriousness now, how should I push out the two rear feet? Just muscle won't cut it...

Use your legs! Perhaps get somebody else to place the bolt in once one side has a bolt through to hold it in place? I'm used to riding singlespeed bmx and 24" though, and I was a builders labourer for a while, so although I'm not a very big lad, I've got plenty of muscle in my legs.

get a bit of wood thats too long and push it down so it pushes legs out, or if you have access to porta power it would be easy

As above, I used a piece of rough cut timer and cut a wedge shape both ends to it would not ping out of place. Put one end in place and then hammer down the other one until the foot is in the correct place. I have done 2 of these this way, one time the feet went more or less onto the flat bit of the arch, the second time they went nearer the edge, which is probably better for strength.
