Hi Brad,

The 'spotlight wobble' is one of the reasons why a lot of rally cars have them in a row across the grille. Then it's easy to fit lamp steadies. I know this won't help in your case, but it looks as though it would be easier to support the lower lights with a steady from the bottom of the lamp casing to the bumper or front panel flange.
That might stop them all wobbling, but supporting the top ones will be a problem. How about changing to 4-in-a-row across the front like the 'works' cars.

Measure them to find out what gauge it is. I've got mine attached with rover brackets, and they're prone to a little wobbling at high speed, nothing that causes problems though.

I think all spotlamps wobble no matter what, unless there mounted in the grill as stated. I put a piece of adhesive foam block in the back to stop them witting the grill but also prevent them shaking violently. regards

In fairness buddy i think its gonna be more down to the sheer size and then make of your spotlights. Had Rally giants before and the brackets that they were mounted on were pretty crappy.
Use Cibie Oscars on the Cooper S in a 2 up 2 down and never had any wobbling even when giving it some serious stick. Use Wipac spots on my Tahiti, again in 2 up 2 down, and these never wobble either, in fact to even get them too move you have too loosen them right off! :P

Yes the shell gauge or Cbies is much better than most and therefore you get less wobble than most. Also the gauge or thickness of the brackets help.

I used to run steady bars to my 20/20'S attached to the bonnet.

Do you have a std front of a fiberglass/flip front?

It is very distracting when rallying and driving flat out if the spotlights wobble or vibrate.
Looking at that bracket it seems that the lights sit well forward of the front panel/grille and this can't help really.
Remember also, if you are doing road rallies only 2 additional lights are permitted. With good driving lights and strong bulbs I do find that 2 are sufficient anyway. I've used 4 extra lights on international historic events at night, taking the lamp bar off for the daylight stages to prevent damage, to allow more air to the oil cooler and to save weight.
