if i were to romove my carpets what would i paint the floor with?? and would i spray it or just hammerite it??

Stone chip? That's what I used on my last car! you can then spray over it with colour!

if it is under the carpet i think that it would probly only need some hammerite ar stonechip, as was said, but its the underneath that needs protecting more

Remove any light rust and lose paint
Give it a good clean and remove all the dirt that gets trapped in the corners
Then using a brush give the whole floor a couple of coats of Hammerite
I have also done this to the boot floor as it makes it much harder wearing

I did mine with hammerite smooth "brush-on" paint last week. It works well. 
Why not check the sills / floor for rust while the carpets are out? A hammer and screwdriver does the job nicely.

So true! I ended up discovering ALL the rust, loads of holes, and got it welded up the next week!
