Are you just looking at trade?

Because they often mark up the prices and You can often find a bargain from a private individual (Especially old women who has stored theyres in the garage for ever and hardly driven it), I bought my mini 6 months ago planning to spend £2000 and I found mine for £800 so look around, there will always be one around which suits you and for the resonable price, you should be able to get a minter, I would expect with £2750

Good luck and let us know how you get on

LOL I was like that when I was looking for mine, eager to get one, but when I was looking at them I didnt get the right feeling about them, and must have looked at about 10 before I found mine, but I knew it was the one I wanted. Oh good idea to look at trade though its always useful to see whats available.

Hi Ed,

Looking forward to meeting yourself and Gemma on Saturday, we have a few different Minis there which you can have a good look at and see what you think. One of the good things about coming to a place like ours is that you can see a few different types of Mini together and have a drive around in whatever you fancy. No pressure at all and usually a good laugh :) You can even sit in my Pink One :w00t:

As for things to look for there is a big list. The link that Lund put on is a good one and if you search some other Mini sites as well there are several "Buyers Guide" type of things which are very comprehensive and well worth a read. I will show you the problem areas as well and show you any faults on the cars. We MOT and check everything before it comes out so that removes a lot of the worry.

Britishbouncer makes some good points about buying privately as well. There are certainly some cheap cars around and some of them can be real bargains. If you are thinking of buying that way please make sure that you take along someone who knows Minis. Too many times the Garage side of our business has to sort out peoples "bargain" Minis that can end up costing them a fortune. Buy badly privately and you have no comeback. That doesn't take away from the fact that if you buy well privately it can be cheaper than buying from myself. Having said that Private ads in the Autotrader recently have been asking stupid money (and no Warranty)

Make sure you wrap up warm on Saturday, our place can be a bit windswept ^_^ I promise you will have a good time and Gemma will come away with some clear ideas about what she does and doesn't want. (Hopefully one of our cars :withstupid: - I'll email you a £5 discount voucher :w00t: )
