that's nice...

Thank you.

Which rear screen sticker have you kept, the Leyland ST or the John Cooper?

It's got the John Cooper one in. Thought it looked better plus, it's an internal sticker, the ST one was external.

Also, do I spy a roll cage?...

Yes, you do. The previous owner did a bit of hill climbing, it's a bolt in one using John Aley cage clamps, very period :D

heres my replica, it also started as a bog standard mk4 1000 but resprayed in a colour similar to blaze and therefore nice for the mk3 touches. All it took to cooper s'ify' it was chrome grille, bumpers with overriders, black vinyl interior, silver and black respray on the wheels and some new badges. The bonnet badges are becoming a pig to source though!

True when they left Longbridge but some dealers sprayed the roofs (I guess at the customer's request) as was the case with UTA 707J or had a dealer fit sunroof as was the case with EPH 774J. UTA has been restored and I did ask the current owner who had done the restoration about the colour of the roof and he said that he felt it was original for that Mini as it has had it for 40+ years and had only ever been on the road with a black roof.

Here are my two favourite Mk3 S – both fairly standard, just how I like them. (Both owners have the standard bit to put back on if they want).

One owner from new, and a lovely owner too!

And this one is just stunning.
