Good Morning Mini Fans,

I have just bought a mini recently, the best thing I have ever done!!!

Being just relocated back to London, I need some help/advice/tip on which garage to bring my mini too?
I'm located at south west London.

Thanks in advance! :D

If you dont mind a drive i would highly recomend Palmer Brothers in Mottingham SE9. They are not cheap but really know there stuff and have good alround experience from paint to mechanical.

Around here (Midlands) even a 'normal' non-mini garage would only charge around 180 for a full service including dissy cap, points, rotor arm etc. and we being a mini-only garage would charge around 120. Your quote seems like a lot for what is quite an easy job.

I must admit that is what I have paid for a service and MOT at the London Mini Centre in Putney every year. £140 labour plus about £95 in parts. I never thought that was particularly excessive and it only happens once a year. I have always been happy with the work and nothing so far has gone wrong.
I am sure I could buy the parts cheaper myself but there is the convenience factor of being fairly close.

£240 quid for a service? Wow, I wish I was that rich.
Actually, If I could afford that Id still rather do it myself and spend the money on hookers.

I'm still a little lost, haha no kidding!

Will any garage except if for example, buy stuff from eBay and tell them to fix it for and just pay them the labour??

Depends. Some garages may, some may not, where I work, they are always sceptical when the customer supplies the bits, as what happens if they're wrong? The best bet is to contact a few garages in your area and see what they say.

Just make sure they know how to service a Mini. It's not difficult but there are things that you would do on a 50+ year old design that you would not do on a current design. Particularly make sure they have a grease gun.
I would do my own servicing if I had somewhere to do it. In London you can expect to pay London prices.
Minidaves seems incredible value. I do not know how he does it.

If you're willing to travel to Norfolk then yes, but that's a bit of false economy. :withstupid:

Wood and Pickett in Leatherhead are also very good. Not too far to go from SW London, very helpful and have a good service centre and mechanic.
