Depends what manifold you have.
In most cases it can be fixed using a clamp.

Do you mean at the Y piece or the manifold gasket?
On my M.O.T. last year, one of the fails was something like 'excessive gases coming from front exhaust'. My standard exhaust system had a split in it. Ended up changing it for an LCB/RC40 combo.
Could have a look at using exhaust repair bandage. You can pick it up at Halfords but I've never used it before. Don't know if that would get through the test though.

the exhaust bandage from halfrauds is pretty good. But I have only used on on a silencer. They last a couple of years aswell

Depends how bad the leak is....if it is only a slight leak you will just get an advisory..
If they spot it that is!!

Depends what manifold you have,,,you don't state what set-up.
If it's the typical cast intake/exhaust one piece type with a single pipe joined by a two piece clamp....it may be as simple as getting back there and tightening the clamp up
