hi guys,
not posted for a while but wondered if anyone knew a rough price for re-chroming 13x7 superlights, or would it be cheaper to buy new. i know mini shops now dont sell them as chrome not suited to our rainy roads etc but might last better if specialist re-chromes.
any ball park figures?
regards
chris

Mate, quite simply, don't bother.
Chrome isn't designed to be plated to aluminium, it never does last! The problem is, it's porous, so when the water gets underneath to the aluminium, the aluminium corrodes and the chrome flakes- the ali it was once plated to ceases to exist!
Get them un-plated and powdercoated
Edit: Look on youtube at DIY de-plating chrome. Could save you quite a bit. Then it'll cost sort of £80+ for blasting and coating, or spray them yourself.
